This event is opened to an international audience. Participation is free of charge.
The concept of ‘Internet governance’ remains open and prone to different interpretations, so the aim of this panel is to portray a wide range of experiences and practices related to the concept, share visions, identify key difficulties and questions, that are to be solved in a near future or further down the road.

MEP Renew Europe, Chair of the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age
Dragoș Tudorache is a Renew Europe Member of the European Parliament and the Executive President of the PLUS party in Romania. He is the Chair of the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age and deputy Coordinator of the RE LIBE Group and the AFET rapporteur on the Republic of Moldova.He began his career in 1997 as judge at the Galati court. Between 2000 and 2005 he built and led the legal departments at the OSCE and UN missions in Kosovo. After working on justice and anticorruption at the Commission Representation in Romania, supporting the country’s EU ascension, he joined the Commission and, subsequently, qualified for leadership roles in EU institutions, managing a number of units and strategic projects such as the Schengen Information System, Visa Information System, and the establishment of eu-LISA.During the migration crisis, he was entrusted with leading the coordination and strategy Unit in DG-Home, until he joined the Government led by Dacian Ciolos. Between 2015 and 2017, in Romania, he was Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Minister of Communications and for the Digital Society, and Minister of Interior. His current interests in the European Parliament include Artificial Intelligence and new technologies, the Republic of Moldova, internal affairs, security, and transatlantic issues.

Meri's work is focused on international human rights litigation and research. She has served as an expert for the Council of Europe and UNDP Armenia. Currently she is an LL.M Candidate at University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School (USA).
In the Internet governance (IG) ecosystem her expertise and interests include issues related to privacy and data protection, freedom of speech and youth participation in IG. She is a member of SEEDIG and EuroDIG communities, YCIG Steering Committee member for the Eastern European group and editor of the SEESummary issues, covering digital policy and IG developments in South Eastern Europe and the neighboring area (SEE+).

Sandra became involved in Internet governance processes in 2006 by managing projects - such as the European Summer School on Internet Governance (EuroSSIG) - for Medienstadt Leipzig e.V., a German not for profit organization which she is chairing since 2020. In 2017 she was appointed to EURid’s Strategic Committee, served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of EURid – the registry for the .eu domain starting in May 2018, and was elected as the Chair of the Board of Directors of EURid in May 2020.

Sonia, OBE, FBA, FBPS, FAcSS, FRSA, has published 20 books on media audiences, especially children and young people’s risks and opportunities, media literacy and rights in the digital environment.
She has advised the European Commission, European Parliament, UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, OECD, ITU and UNICEF and others on children’s internet safety and rights in the digital environment.
Digital Transformation Adviser at e-Estonia
Florian specializes in discussing digitalisation policies with governments from around the world. He previously worked for the Estonian Government Office and a cybersecurity firm.
Florian holds two Master’s degrees in politics and security studies from University College London and the University of Tartu.
Asia-Pacific Information policy lead at Google
Jean-Jacques has been involved in international government and regulatory affairs for over 15 years in both the private and government sectors. His most recent role was as Managing Director, Europe for ICANN, and previously he had worked for Microsoft, Skype, and the UK Government.
He now heads up Google’s public policy approach for content in Asia-Pacific, covering issues including disinformation, online safety and intermediary liability.
Vice President, Alliances and Program Development at TechSoup
Chris has been working in civil society and tech since 1999, building early community platforms at NGOs in the U.S. before moving to Romania as a Peace Corps Volunteer in 2005. While in Romania Chris started the Odorheiu Secuiesc Community Foundation and brought TechSoup into Romania before moving into a role leading program design at TechSoup Global where he works at the intersection of tech policy, design, and social progress with the more than 1 million NGOs reached by TechSoup around the world.
